Commentary

After a word in the Instrumental -3rd case in construction comes the affix ठक् in the sense of 'he goes on by means thereof'.
The word चरति means both to go on and to eat. Thus दध्ना चरति = दाधिकः 'who gets on, with being fed on curd, हास्तिकः 'who travels by an elephant'.
