When लिट् (Perfect Tense) follows घसॢ is optionally the substitute of अद्।
अघास or आद 'he ate,' जक्षतुः आदतुः 'they two ate,' जक्षुः or आदुः 'they all ate' The word जक्षतुः is thus formed :- घस् + अतुस् = घस् + अस् + अतुस् 6.1.8 = घ + घस् +अतुस् 7.4.60 = च + घस् + अतुः 7.4.62 = ज + घस् + अतुस् 8.4.53 = ज + घ्स् + अतुस् 6.4.98 = जक्षतुः 8.3.60.
