Commentary

When the affixes beginning with a सु 4.1.2 and ending in कप् 5.4.151 follow, not being सर्वनामस्थान 1.1.43 then that which precedes is called पद।
The affixes beginning with su and ending with kap are meant by the above sutra. Thus the case-affix भ्याम् (Ins Dual) is an affix included in the above. Thus राजन् + भ्याम् = राजभ्याम्, राजभिः, राजत्वं, राजता, राजतरः, राजतमः The न is elided by being pada.

Why do we say 'when not a Sarvanamasthana'? Observe राजन् + औ = राजानौ two kings. kings. राजानः kings. The न is not elided.
