Commentary

The final of the अङ्ग (stem) of हा (जुहोत्यादिगणः (3rd Conjugation)) is elided before an affix beginning with य् being a सार्वधातुक कित् or ङित् affix.
Thus जह्यात्, जह्याताम् and जह्युः ॥
