Commentary

The affix वुञ् comes in the sense of 'sown' after the word आश्वयुजी।
This debars ठञ् ॥ Thus आश्वयुज्या मुप्ताः = आश्वयुजका माषाः 'the pulse sown in Asvayuji.' It is the name of the full-moon in the Asterism of Asvini. Asvayuj and Asvini_ are the same. Some texts read अश्वनी instead of अश्विनी ॥
