Commentary

The affix फिञ् comes in the sense of descendant after the words कौसल्य and कार्मार्या।
This debars इञ् ॥ Thus कौसल्यायनिः and कार्मार्यायणिः ॥ These words, however, do not mean "the son of कौसल्य or कार्मर्य," but they mean "the son of कोसल, and कर्मार," because of the following Vartika.

Vart:- The words दगु, कोसल, कमार्र, छाग and वृष take the augment युट before the affix फिञ् ॥ Thus दागव्यायनिः, कौसल्यायनिः, कार्मार्यायनिः, छाग्यायनिः and वार्ष्यायणिः ॥
