Commentary

The words उग्रम्पश्य , इरम्मद , पाणिन्धम are irregularly formed.
Thus उग्रं पश्यति = उग्रम्पश्यः 'fierce-looking'; इरया मद्यति = इरम्मदः 'delighting in drinking an epithet of Agni, a flash of lightning'. So पाणिन्धमाः पन्थानः 'chilly roads'.
