Commentary

The affix ण्यत् comes after a verb that ends in ऋ (long or short) or in a consonant.
The phrase ॠहलोः is in the genitive case dual number, the force of genitive here being that of ablative. As कृ + ण्यत् = कार्यम् 'to be made'; हृ + ण्यत् = हार्य nom. sing. हार्यम् 'to be taken'; धृ + ण्यत् = धार्यं; 'to be held'; वच् + ण्यत् = वक् + ण्यत् 7.3.52 = वाक्यं (VII.2. II6) 'to be spoken'; पच् + ण्यत् = पाक्यम्.
