Operational rule vidhi
1. दृक् 2. स्वस् and 3. स्वतवस् take the augment नुम् before the affix सु (Nominative 1st-Case and Vocative Case singular) in the छन्दस् (Vedas).

1. दृक् 2. स्वस् and 3. स्वतवस् take the augment नुम् before the affix सु (Nominative 1st-Case and Vocative Case singular) in the छन्दस् (Vedas).
Thus ईदृक्, तादृङ्, यादृङ्, सदृङ्, स्ववान्, स्वतवान् ॥ The श् of ईदृश् (formed by 3.2.60), is elided by 8.2.23; and ङ् substituted for न् by 8.2.62. The lengthening in स्ववान् and स्वतवान् is through 6.4.14.
