Operational rule vidhi
ए is optionally substituted for अ and आ of the seven roots 1. फण् 2. राज् 3. भ्राज् 4. भ्राश् 5. श्लाश् 6. स्याम् and 7. स्वन् and the reduplicate is elided thereby, before the affixes of the लिट् (Perfect Tense) having an indicatory क् (or ङ्) as well as before थल् of the लिट् (Perfect Tense) having the augment इट्.
