Karika
When the continuity of action is not meant, we have The सातत्य comes from सततं, by adding ष्यञ् to form the abstract noun, सततस्य भावः 5.1.123 = सातत्यं ॥ How do you explain सततम्, it ought to be सन्ततम् ? The म् of सम् is optionally elided before ततं, on the strength of the Karika:-"The म् of अवश्यम् is elided before a word ending in a kritya affix, the म् of तुम् is elided before काम and मनस्, the म् of सम् is elided optionally before हित and तत, the final अ of मांस is elided before पाक or पचन ॥
