Commentary
The words 1. उपरि and 2. उपरिष्टात् are anomalous in the sense of अस्ताति।
These words are derived irregularly from the word ऊर्ध्व, by changing it into उप, and adding the affixes रिल् and रिष्टातिल् ॥ Thus ऊर्ध्वायां दिशि वसति = उपरि वसति. So also उपर्यागतः, उपरि रमणीयम् ॥ उपरिष्टाद्वसति, उपरिष्टादागतः, उपरिष्टद्रमणीयम् ॥
