Commentary
The word अधिक is anomalous.
The word अधिकः meaning 'more', is formed by adding कन् to the word अध्यारूढ; there being elision of the second term before the affix. Thus अधिको द्रोणः खार्याम् "a Drona is superior to Khari" अधिका खारी द्रोणेन "a Khari is inferior to Drona". The word अध्यारूढ governs nominative or accusative indifferently.
