Operational rule vidhi

To indicate impurification of mind / intellect, the उपधा letter of the verb root दुष् is optionally converted to ऊकार when followed by the णिच् प्रत्यय.

Commentary

The ओ of दोष् is optionally replaced by ऊ when the sense is that of the disturbing of the mind.
As चित्तं or प्रज्ञां दूषयति or दोषयति ॥ Otherwise साधनं दूषयति when mental agitation is not meant.
