Commentary
The word आर्य optionally retains its original accent in a कर्मधारय समास before the words ब्राह्मण and कुमार।
Thus आर्य॑ब्राह्मणः or आर्यबाह्मणः꣡, आर्य॑कुमारः or आर्यकुमारः꣡ ॥ The word आर्य is formed by ण्यत् affix and has svarita on the final. Why do we say 'Arya'? Observe परमब्राह्मणः꣡, परमकुमारः꣡ ॥ Why do we say before 'Brahmana' and 'Kumara'? Observe आर्यक्षत्रियः ॥ Why 'Karmadharaya ?' Observe आर्यस्य ब्राह्मणः = आर्यब्राह्मणः꣡ ॥ According to the Accentuated Text the accent is आ꣡र्य (Pro. Bohtlingk).
